Athens dinner - Strofi or Manh Manh

Trying to decide between these two restaurants in Athens. Has anyone been to both and have recommendations? No availability on rooftop for Strofi so just going by taste and service alone. Are prices the same at both?

Hello,

Have you checked Tripadvisor? I've been to both. Strofi is great for fresh fish. There are only 3 tables for 2 on the Rrooftop, that's why you didn't manage to get one with a view. I found the starters better than the main course. Mani-Mani is relatively upscale but at a reasonable budget, a true foodie paradise. I remember a dish called "makarounes", ask them about it! I'd choose Mani-Mani, more interesting cuisine.

Can't speak to Strofi, but can highly recommend Manh Manh. It was our favorite restaurant in Athens. We ate their twice. Creative cuisine,
great wine (their label) and conveniently located south of the Acropolis. We made reservations well ahead of time.

How far ahead did you make your reservations? Did you call from the US?

Mani-Mani was the restaurant we all went to for our "Last Supper" on our RS Greece tour. It was amazing, every bite better than the last. I highly recommend it. On the other hand, I have not been to Strofi so can't knowledgeably comment on it, nor compare the two. If you will be in Athens for two nights, you could go to both and um....do a comparison of your own! I feel obliged to do that with gelato in the different European countries we visit. :)

Lizcat, our hotel made our reservations a day or two before. And as Andi said, RS tour has the "Last Supper" there and that takes up one area. We would have eaten there a 3rd time. We called a few hours ahead and they did not have availability. It's that popular!

Thanks for the reply. My husband and I are going on the RS tour shortly. I figured Strofi for the closing dinner because many had mentioned a view of the Acropolis at the closing dinner. So I thought Mani Mani would be the opening dinner. But I still want to go to Mani Mani on our own and sounds like going twice will be fine.

We recently came back from the Athens tour, and went to both restaurants. We made last minute reservations at Strofi and got a view of the Parthenon from the first level (second floor); the roof was already booked. And Manh Manh was our farewell group dinner. Strofi's fare is more traditional, I think, and overall, good. Manh Manh has a modern twist to Greek food, and it was excellent! I wish we had gone there more than once! But as Andi suggested, if you have more than two nights in Athens, you can try both. But definitely make advanced reservations regardless of which you choose.

To those who have been on a recent RS tour: where was your opening first night dinner?

Lizcat, we were on the RS Tour last September and did not eat at Strofi our first night. Our group ate outdoors at Gods' Restaurant. It was a fun experience and the food was traditional Greek cuisine. Our last meal was at Manh Manh. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Have a wonderful journey.
