Athens and Peloponnese around New Years advice

Hello,
My family and I will be arriving in Athens December 28th and leaving January 6th.

What will we encounter as far as closures that week?

Will we better off starting with Athens until New Years Day and then heading to Hydra and the peninsula or would it be better to end in Athens.
