Athens Airport Transfert to/from Hotel.

Regular taxis are reliable, the fare is a flat rate of 35 euros to Athens Plaka. If you prefer a private transfer you can book online with welcomepickups, the driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign showing your name

The price will be a little more expensive (10-15% more)

I used Welcome Pickups both from and to the Athens airport.

From the airport, the driver met me just outside customs. It was a taxi but it was clean. The driver had a cold bottle of water for me and let me know the cab had wifi. He spoke fluent English and pointed out the sights we passed.

To the airport, the driver arrived early for a 6:30 AM pickup, spoke fluent English, and the cab was nice and clean.

Since you pay a flat fare online, and about the same as a taxi, its a plus to know you're not being "taken or a ride." I'd use them again.

You can download the Welcome Pickups app. You will be told who your driver will be and their car information.

Another vote for Welcome Pickups. I’m in and out of Athens two or three times a year and now always use them. Everything Frank has said reflects my experience. There’s no problem with picking up a cab in the rank at the airport but Welcome is simply easier.

I used Welcome Pickups in Athens and would recommend them. My only precaution is to be sure you are positive about your reservation (time, passengers,etc) before you book. Once you book, it is nonrefundable you just get credit.

Just to update the official taxi rates in Athens.
The official Airport - Athens city center flat rate is now €40 (€55 between midnight and 05:00)

Apart from the flat rate, the rate per kilometer has increased from € 0.68 to € 0.90 (30% increase)

The minimum fare is now €4
