I am planning a trip to Chania in June but would like a couple days in Athens. I would appreciate recommendations for airport transer and what would be best area to stay. TY in advance.

I've used Welcome Pickups both from and to the Athens airport. On time, clean cars, English speaking. They are taxis but it's prebooked and paid online. They meet you as you exit customs.

Stay around the Acropolis Museum, it’s central for everything you will have time for in Athens. Without knowing your budget hard to make recommendations but I stayed at Hotel Herodion which is well recommended on the Forum. They have another hotel, Philippos nearby. Lots of smaller hotels in the nearby Plaka area. Use Booking.com for research but book directly with hotel - it’s often cheaper and they can have vacancies when Booking.com shows no vacancies.
I’ve used Welcome Pick-ups to transfer excellent service. I have also taken the train from the airport and found it quite easy. But nice to be met and not having to haul luggage up and down stairs and from station to hotel.

Loved the Acropolis View Hotel when I stayed there last fall . Great location and view, reasonably priced, helpful staff.
