Anyone know if it is possible to go from the airport in Athens directly to Delphi? I know we can go into Athens to the bus station and take a bus, but it would save so much time to avoid the city (going back to Athens later anyway) and go straight to Delphi.

A private transfer or a taxi from the airport to the bus station will save you from using the metro and cost you about 45€ (by metro you have to go to Monastiraki station and then change line to go to Kato Patissia station which is close to the bus station).
But since there are only 4 buses per day maximum to go to Delphi, this will not necessarily make you arrive earlier in Delphi.
The ticket price to Delphi by bus is less than 20€
AT gate 5 of airport you can catch the x93 express bus @ €6, leaves about every 35 minutes & takes about 1 hour to reach the KTEL LIossion Terminal for the KTEL Intercity bus to Delphi. The Delphi trip takes 3 hrs, @about €15 one-way, less than €30 round-trip. Currently, Deps for Delphi are 10:30am, 3 pm & 6 pm. On return, you'd need a taxi from Terminal to Central Ath Hotel @ about €20.
Thus total transport costs for 2 people from Airport to/from Delphi wouldl be €12 + €60 + €20 = €92... vs $300 one-way for private car service. It's up to you... and your pocketbook.
