I'm flying into the Athens airport late and fly out early the next morning to Kos. I hate to pay the $200 for Sofitel. Anyone have suggestions for cheaper lodging nearby? And especially with free shuttle...Thanks, Kristina

We stay at Peris hotel. Its about a 15 minute trip from the airport. It was 90 euros last September and offered free shuttle service and breakfast. They do have a surcharge if you are arriving and or departing in the middle of the night. Its in a bit of a remote looking area particularly after dark but it is actually in a residential area of a small town.
You could go on booking dot com and look for hotels in Rafina. Its fairly close to the airport and I understand there are several hotels that offer free shuttles.
Lastly there is the holiday inn just a 5 minute shuttle trip away. As I recall they were pretty expensive as well.
