We are leaving from the Athens airport for home in October and want to stay nearby the night before. Any suggestions on an inexpensive place to stay for the one night?

It may not tick the “inexpensive” box, but you can’t get more convenient than the Athens Airport Sofitel.. You literally cross the street and take an escalator up to arrivals.

The room rate for a night at the Sofitel at the Airport starts at €433 as of mid-October.
Extend your stay in Athens with an extra night in the city. What's the benefit of staying closer to the airport? the Airport is only a 40-minute taxi ride from central Athens.

We just got back from Greece 2 weeks ago. We stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Athens airport which was the nicest Holiday Inn we ever stayed in. They have a free shuttle that leaves for the airport once an hour. They also offer a really nice breakfast. The room cost us a total of 216 euros .
