Athens Airport Hotel ideas for family of 6

We are looking for a hotel close to the airport (ATH) with reliable free shuttle and breakfast included. Our Athens departure flight is not until 1pm in the afternoon, so we are not worried about early morning logistics. That being said, the departure day is Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday, and of course we will need to be at the airport a few hours early. Our 4 children are ages 16-21, and typically we need 2 rooms... Currently I have done a search at the Athens Sofitel and they will only let me book THREE rooms (2 people/room-- no more) and EACH room is $247 USD. EEK! Any other suggestions?

We stayed at Avra hotel in Rafina last May. It was less than half the price of Sofitel.

You can walk around and eat at restaurants. There is even a beach there. There are rooms with a view of sea but I think they reserve those for those who book through their site. We had booked through booking.com. We had a view of an apartment building but still nice to have a balcony.

The rooms are small but well designed. I don’t know if there are bigger rooms you can fit three in. Ours certainly had no room. There is a good breakfast buffet that you can enjoy with views of the sea.

There is a shuttle that many here have used. We had a rental car that we returned to the airport. It is about 20 minutes to the airport.

Personally I dislike being at the airport for the last night and this worked well for us.

At Avra Hotel there have triple or quadruple rooms but I'm afraid that if it's for Saturday 15th Easter they will all be sold out.
Try 3 x bedrooms. They are 92€ each with breakfast (80€ without breakfast) with free shuttle to and from the airport.

You forum folks are great!
I was noticing that Avra is already sold out of the 4 ppl rooms.
How was the breakfast? Buffet? Meats and proteins??
Thank-you!

Breakfast was a buffet. We were happy with it. I am sure the restaurants in the area might be more fun but our flight was a couple hours earlier than yours.

The night we were there every room was sold out. It was just an ordinary Monday night in May so they are obviously popular.
