Archaeological museum of Piraeus

, I've been told that the Archaeological museum of Piraeus is well worth a visit, but how. We will be traveling from the ferry landing to Athens with no car and a lot of luggage. Any suggestions?

Sarah if you are spending a month in Greece and hitting all the museums, yes. Otherwise... hmmm. Having had a friend promote it, I decided to see it, at a time when I was going to be in Piraeus to ferry to Serifos. I also had a big bag; I went to a ticket bureau (Near the Metro station). that had more than a window, had an inside office as well, and bought my ticket and asked if I could leave my large bag there... there were other such bags stacked behind a row of chairs. (I don't keep anything valuable in my rolling bag during these transfers, mainly clothes. They said OK, so I set out to walk to the Museum. It was a HOT sunny June day... directions were vague ... I had to stop in shops to ask, several times... it was probably over a mile's walk... down a side street. Almost no visitors there. A few good sculptures from the 500-450 (pre classical) era, a lot of Hellenistic stuff. A long walk back. wouldn't do it again.

It is worth a visit. Where are you staying? In Athens? Cabs are not expensive but might be more from the port? Can you leave your luggage at your hotel?
