We are arriving in Athens on Oct 6 and cruising out of Pireaus on Oct 9 so we will need to get a COVID test in Athens. We are staying near the Acropolis. I’ve read that many pharmacies will do antigen testing but can’t find if we need an appointment. Had trouble getting tested in Italy last year so want to avoid a house call to the hotel for 70 euro if possible.
Will your cruise line permit a tele-visit test? We did a Holland America cruise in June and the test kit they recommended at the time was eMed (they are no longer requiring tests). Although looking at your dates, I don’t know if you can order and receive the test kits in time. As I recall, there are plenty of pharmacies in that area; we ended our cruise in Athens.
You don't need to make an appointment. When you arrive, ask your hotel where there is a nearby pharmacy that can do the test.
An antigenic test costs 10€.
Self testing is explicitly not allowed for cruisers per the Greek authorities. In person only. But as noted above, your hotel can tell you where to get your antigen test done.
