Anthenarum Portus Hotel

Hi, we want to stay in Piraerus because we leave on a cruise and love sea ports. I'm interested in staying two nights at the Anthenarum Portus Hotel because it looks terrific and the rates are good for November when we will be there. Can any recommend it? https://athenarumportus.gr/
Thanks for your help!

I stayed in a few hotels in Piraeus before taking a ferry to the islands, but never in this one. It's brand new (I think less than 2 years old). Thanks for mentioning it. I've saved it to my lists!

It's extremely well located, being close to the ferry docks and right next to the metro station, which means a 25-minute ride to the center of Athens if you ever want to go there.

However, be aware that the cruise port is not in the same location as the ferry port (it's about a 1.5-mile / 30-minute walk).
There aren't any hotels right next to the cruise terminals anyway.

The easiest way to get from the hotel to the cruise terminal is to take a taxi (only a few euros).

That said, staying at the port of Piraeus instead of Athens is a rather unusual and unique choice that can only be justified if you really love the ports vibe. In that case, you won't be disappointed. The port stretches for about 3 miles, and a little further east is Marina Zeas, another port for multi-million dollar yachts. All these areas are extremely lively almost 24/7 and are full of bars, restaurants, and shops of all kinds.

Near Marina Zeas is the Hellenic Maritime Museum, which is currently undergoing renovations (it's really old-fashioned). It is expected to reopen in early October.

There's also the very interesting Archaeological Museum of Piraeus.

Very close to the hotel is the Piraeus Central Market, a must-see if you love the smell of fresh meat and fish :)

Note that an alternative could be the Phidias Piraeus Hotel (3 stars), which is located near the marina and offers a free shuttle to the ports and metro.
