Another Acropolis + Multisite online ticket purchase question

Hi all,

Here is my current scenario.
Large family from the United States 4 adults and 4 kids 11, 14, 14, 16 - planning to do Acropolis and as many sites as we can and maybe the museum in 1 day. Planning on starting at 8/9 am in mid June.

We do not want to waste time in line getting tickets and have read mixed things so hoping everyone that has recent experience can offer suggestions.
Options:
1. Wait and go and get tickets the morning of (How much time will I waste and can they turn us away because of the crowd?
2. Online I see the combo ticket on the official website but it seems you can only do the € 30 for all 8? I do not see the reduced option for the kids and pick the entry time from 8-9AM, seems like it still might be better buy for all 8 to do this option?
3. Buy individual site tickets adult price and reduced rate , more expensive and each one requires a time - do you just put the sametime ie 8-9 for each site, its hard to really figure out what time we will be at what site.

This is about the last thing I need to purchase for and the website is confusing on not even showing reduced fares for some options. Then the whole time thing for each site if I booked individually is also throwing me off, not sure what to put and I dont want them to be like your time slot was in the morning and now its noon for another site.

Hopefully I didnt confuse anyone but hopefully someone has some good tips for me.

Thank you

Are you sure you will be able to visit the 8 sites included in the ticket combo?

Visiting these 8 sites + the Acropolis Museum is logistically almost impossible in a single day.

And culturally there is no point in running from one site to another without really understanding and appreciating what you see, just because you think you are saving a few Euros. It's more consumerist force-feeding than a cultural and informative visit. .Especially since there are plenty of other things to do and see in Athens that are not crowded sites or museums.

At the Acropolis you probably have to wait at the ticket office if you buy your tickets on site.

Can they turn us away because of the crowd?

At the Acropolis yes. Now the number of visitors is limited to around 2000 per hour. If when you arrive the maximum number of visitors is reached you will have to wait for the next available time slot.

When you select tickets on the official website, discounts or free entries are clearly specified.

With the Combo ticket, for non-European residents, only young people up to 5 years old have free entry.

With a single entry to the Acropolis your 4 kids would pay €10 instead of €20 because non-Europeans aged 6 to 25 have a 50% discount. And they will also have 50% discount on all other sites visited individually.

So, if you take 8 combo tickets you will pay 240€ even if you only visit 2 or 3 sites.

For 4 adults and 4 kids you will pay less if you visit 2 sites without the Combo. Let's say the Acropolis + The Roman Agora: 168€

Acropolis + 2 others sites: €216

Thank you @JoLui

I appreciate this, I will actually just get the acropolis ticket and then see what other sites we can visit within a day. Your map is amazing and lots of options on there that I will evaluate too.

Thank you so much

On the website, upon completion of the transaction, you will receive the tickets by e-mail in a pdf file.
At the checkpoint upon entering the archaeological site or museum your kids will have to present an ID to prove the right to a reduced/free admission
