Aegean Airline - good? decent? reliable?

I am looking at United flight to join Greece tour. Aegean Airline is a star alliance member offering lower fares on the United website. The return from Greece leg would be Aegean airline from Greece to Heathrow with a 2 hour layover to go back to US. Can anyone comment on Aegean airline and/or the 1 hr 50 minute layover at Heathrow ( whether time is sufficient)? Do we have to go through immigration control at Heathrow coming from Athens back to the US?

Thank you.

Flying with Aegean/Olympic airlines several times was comfortable, reliable and timely. No complaints.

At Heathrow, you would have to go through security but no immigration or customs.

Go to this website:

http://www.heathrow.com/flight-connections

plug in your flight information and you will get step by step instructions.

Fortunately, Aegean and United are both in Terminal 2 at Heathrow.

I have flown on Aegean between London and Greece and within Greece a number of times. Good flights, good service. I wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again.

That timing should work but if there was a delay and you missed your flight they would have to rebook you. assuming your connecting flights are on one ticket.

Aegean is great!

If you don’t have lounge access already and they offer you the chance to bid for an upgrade depending on the bid amount. I flew Athens to Kos and paid like €50 for the upgrade which was fine but not worth it alone for a short flight…but it got me expedited everything and lounge access which was where it was worth it.

Aegean tends to get good reviews so I would not be worried about that. Just keep in mind that the drawback of changing planes at Heathrow is an additional security check and that you need an ETA for the UK.

We have flown Aegean three times in the last year. We would fly them again. Passport control will be in Athens. All you should have to do is to go through a security again since you are transiting.
