Acropolis tickets

Hello,
A few questions about advanced purchase of 4 (2-Adult, 1-college student, 1-under 18) Acropolis and Agora site tickets in Athens 1-June:

  • what is the best site to order combo tickets from? http://odysseus.culture.gr/ site is not working
  • Do U.S. and under 18 students receive free admission?
  • should I buy in advance for a Tuesday afternoon visit or just buy in person at the less trafficked south gate?

Thank you

The official website for the Acropolis and Agora tickets réservation is:

https://etickets.tap.gr/

Select Attica to see the Athens sites

On the official website you can only buy full price tickets, there are discounts for students or young people under 25 years old but I do not know if appliquables for non-European Union people. Other forum members might be telling you more detail.

I would buy ahead simply for the purpose of shortening the amount of time you stand out in the heat, especially since you plan to go in the afternoon. Even if the line is pretty short and moves quickly, 10-15 extra minutes in the sun when you can avoid it seems like a good thought to me.

On the assumption that the ticket windows are being used again after Covid, the easiest way to get your combo tickets is to buy them at the Temple of Olympian Zeus. I've never seen a line there and it's one of the included sites so it's the same combo ticket you'd get at any of the other sites. This works well for Agora as well.

Ram54, Google is your friend. IF you had just googled "Acropolis admission official site" you would have gotten the following link:
http://odysseus.culture.gr/h/3/eh355.jsp?obj_id=2384
-- the INfo under the heading TICKETS would give the basic cost info
-- Scrollling down, the Heading FREE ADMISSION FOR: will read " for infor about free and reduced admission to Greek Arechological Sites PRESS HERE"
When you do this, this new page opens up...
https://www.culture.gov.gr/DocLib/Admission_Info_140721.pdf
-- this detailed page in 2 columns (Greek & English) tells exactlly who gets FREE ADMISSION ... almost all these are EU Citizens or speciallized academics -- the only non-EU children are those under 5 (who have passports to prove age)
... BUT, if you keep scrolling down down down, you get to REDUCED ADMISSIONS in SINGLE TICKETS ... and here you find "children and young people from age 6 to25 with passport verification of age & country."
... you could have done this, but I just did it, a tip for next time...

On the official website you can only buy full price tickets

I made a mistake!.

You can now buy reduced-price tickets on the official website.

And at step 2 of the ticket purchase you can click on a link and see if you are entitled to reduced-price
