Acropolis,etc Free Day May 18th

We will only be in Athens for two days in May and had planned an afternoon visit to Acropolis and the museum on Saturday 18th. When I went to buy tickets, that day is a “free day”so not selling tickets. Are we crazy to try and go on a free day in terms of lines and crowds? Would we be better off changing to Friday ( not ideal as we’ll be Jet lagged). Thanks for advice!

May 18th is International Museum Day, entry is free but you will still need to collect a ticket at the ticket office.
It's up to you if you want to be among the crowd of these free days

Note that April 18th is also a free day (International Monument Day)
