Normally, whether you buy the "Acropolis & Slopes" single ticket or the "Combined" ticket, in both cases there is the time slot selection then the date selection before choosing the type of ticket.

Note that currently, due to the heat wave, the Acropolis is closed from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there are huge queues from 7 a.m.

I bought a combo ticket to the Acropolis recently. Just heard they will have timed entry in Sept. I bought my ticket from “Get Your Guide”. Their rep said it won’t affect us as the timed entry is for people who buy on site.

I tried to go to this website that you have linked and my McAfee says that it is a suspicious website.

Is it best to get the combo ticket or just the Acropolis ticket? And then get the Acropolis museum separate?

The combined ticket allows access to:

The Acropolis (and Slopes), Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Handrian's Library, Olympieion, Kerameikos, and Aristotle's School.

The Acropolis Museum is privately run and is not part of the museums/sites included in the combined ticket, so you will have to buy it separately anyway

The website is :

How much time would you spend at the Acropolis itself? 2-3 hrs?

Yes, around 2 hours is an average time.

Also allow 1 to 1.5 h for the Ancient Agora and the Stoa, and at least 30 minutes for the Roman Agora

Sry.. couldn’t figure out how to add a new post
I’m wondering why Rick doesn’t give the website to buy tickets in his Athens book?

It’s definitely legit??

I don't know when was the last edition of the Athens RS guidebook but I guess the publications of the Rick Steves books are at best updated every year.

The official website: https://hhticket.gr/tap_b2c_new/english/tap.exe?PM=P1N

is published by the Hellenic Organization of Cultural Resources Development, which depends on the Greek Ministry of Culture.

https://www.gov.gr/en/upourgeia/upourgeio-politismou-kai-athletismou/tameio-arkhaiologikon-poron-kai-apallotrioseon

I can't imagine RS publishing a new guidebook each time an internet address is modified, especially since this internet address has just been modified recently (about 2 months), before it was accessible here:

https://tickets.tap.gr

This new website has been set up because the terms of access to archaeological sites will change in the weeks (months?) to come. Probably with a limitation of the number of visitors and a strict implementation of reservation time slots
