I've never been to this village, but given its location, the best option would be to rent a car. Achladokambos is about 30 minutes from Nafplio, which is roughly a 2.5-hour drive from Athens.

Without a car, you'll have a hard time getting there and exploring the village at your leisure. Especially since there are a couple of tavernas and bars where you could ask about potential ancestors. There's also a "Customer Service Center of the Community" in the village; it might be a good place to get some information.

If your intention is only to spend a short time in this village, you can also get there by taxi from Nafplio.

Thank you for those details! That’s very helpful. In my original post I should have added that we won’t be renting a car, although I agree it would give us the most flexibility. I know people in our age group (70s) do drive internationally, we’ve made the decision not to.

Since you haven't specified whether you intend to stay in Nafplio and how you plan to get there, you could take a bus from Athens (Kifissos bus station) to Nafplio. There's a bus roughly every hour (€15 per trip).

If you're staying in Nafplio for at least a night or two, I think it will be easy to find a taxi or driver to take you to Achladokambos.
