Acceptable covid test kits for Delta Airlines

Has anyone flown back to the US from Athens on Delta Air Lines and used a covid self-test/home kit to show proof of a negative test result? If so, what test kit did you use?

I just got off the phone with Delta, and the agent told me that Delta will not accept any self-test results in Greece, even if it is a CDC-approved test kit. Supposedly the only option is to go to a testing facility at the airport or in Athens.

I don't think the person you talked to at Delta gave you the correct information. Here is a link to their website regarding proctored Covid tests. You can go to the section where it asks where you are flying from/to and it gives a number of at home test kits that are acceptable including flying from Greece to the US.

And it's actually the CDC that sets the criteria that the airlines have to follow.

There is a distinction between a home test and a tele-medicine (proctored) test that you do at home over an internet connection. The tele-medicine tests are accepted.

This link below was taken from the Delta airlines website and states that this test is accepted for international entry into the us. You will need to sign in and do the test over the internet, either with a computer or smart phone.

This was a huge question for us as well. We ordered our proctored test kits from emed.com. It's a Bianix kit that you then need to have an account with Navica for the HIPAA testing.

I'm wondering people's experience of presenting results from these tests to the airline when flying to the U.S.: Is simply having the negative test result on your phone and showing your phone to the airline rep at the check-in desk sufficient for boarding? I know some airlines have online places to upload, but I'm just trying to understand what contingency plans will/won't work if things like uploading don't work. (It's also doubtful I'll have access to a printer between testing and airport check-in.) Does just having the result on your phone work with airlines?

I am also very interested in hearing about anyone who has returned from Greece on Delta and used the Binax now telehealth test, and uploading the results to Delta's ReadyFly or showing the results on the phone. Going next month and want to make sure I won't have any return issues.

Recently used the Binax proctored test kit and flew Delta from Spain. Went smoothly. Make sure you have the NAVICA app on your phone and plan to do the test with a good Wi-Fi connection. We did upload the test results to the Delta fly ready….but I don’t believe it’s essential as long as you have the results to show the agent at the gate.

Just chiming in here on the Binax proctored test kits (ordered via eMed https://www.emed.com/products/covid-at-home-testkit-six-pack). Packed kits in our luggage, because we just don't find the "fun" in hunting down a pharmacy or test site lol. Really easy to use - only complication is angling the camera correctly so rep can see what you are doing, but since there were two of us, we just assisted each other. Results show up in a few minutes in the Navica app, and emailed as a password-protected PDF (easy to unlock, but you can also screenshot it and save as photo). We flew on Delta from Portugal (Porto). I showed my password-protected doc, husband showed a screenshot, both were accepted by the agent. We also used these tests to join our RS tour.
