Hello,
This will be my first trip to Greece. After a weekend in Athens, I will be in Larissa for a professional event. That event ends at 4:30 on a Saturday, and the next thing that I have to do is arrive at an Athens airport hotel on Monday evening. I would appreciate any recommendations for places that I can get to from Larissa (and from there to the airport) by public transportation. Thank you!

I agree with Badger, Thessaloniki is a great place to spend the weekend.
There is an intense cultural life and some interesting places to see.
From Larissa you can go to Thessaloniki by train (1h30 journey) or by bus (2h30 journey)

There are 10 to 15 direct Thessaloniki → Athens flights per day with Aegean or Sky Express

It's also an easy train ride back to Athens from Thessaloniki.
