4 Days in the Peloponnese

My husband and I are planning to spend 4 days in the Peloponnese from May 19 through 23. We would like to visit Corinth, Nafplio, Monemvasia and Methoni. We love to walk/hike and explore and will be renting a car. Any suggested itineraries, places to visit or stay would be most appreciated. Thank you!

I am headed there in April. Lots of research. For 4 days it is easy. Go to the places you listed in your post. Walk/hike - use Alltrails.

You have already defined the places you would like to go.

However, given that time is not extendable, with this itinerary you will have to make choices, you will not be able to drive from point A to point B, visit, and do walks/hikes at the same time (although that sometimes visit and walk can be done at the same time).

Monemvasia→Methoni is a 4-hour drive without breaks, Methoni→return to Athens is also a 4-hour drive without breaks.

Just to say that for these two days alone you will have spent half your vacation driving.

So in your initial message I should have read: We like to drive 4 or 5 hours every day, and possibly walk/hike, explore

Sorry, I would have liked to be more positive in my reply but I don't see how to reconcile 4 days with what you want to do.

Nafplio is THE place to stay at least 2-3 days of stay... the ideal base for exploring the historic wonders. This non-commercial website http://www.visitnafplio.com/ - superb; click every link!! It tells all about Nafplio AND Nearby famous sites AND Walks hikes, hidden gems, where to eat, where to stay. I've been to that area many times & can testify to value of info ... including hotel -- if you are lucky, snare a room at Hotel Agammemnon, ideal location. If fully booked, Omorfo Poli is a swell alternative.

With only 4 days, I think Methoni may be too far, unless your idea of exploring is seeing Greece thru the Windshield. I would stick to Corinth, then maybe stop at ANCIENT NEMEA (a thrilling ancient-Games site, readying for the Revived games in June, and also check out Mycenae,? TIryns? and Epidaurus besides Gorgeous NAFPLIO itself... considered the most beautfil Old Town in all greece. middle of 3rd day, head for monemvasia, spend overnight, then get ready for looong drive back to ATH area.

Ditto with the main drift--skip Methoni, explore the multitude of opportunities near Nafplio. Corinth is just a stop en route.

We stayed in Nafplio for 5 nights in May 2022. It’s a beautiful time of year. Nafplio is filled with bougainvillea and other beautiful flowers. We loved our stay at Omorfi Poli!!!

We spent a day in Nafplio following a walking tour from my Michelin Green Guide. Drove to the top of the fortress ruins and explored there. Visited Mycenae, Epidauros, and Mystras (my favorite). Drove down the Argolid peninsula and stopped at a beach and then a fishing village for dinner. We saw the most gorgeous sunset in Nafplio. Even better than the sunsets in Santorini.
