20-day Greece Itinerary with kids age 6 and 10 - Epidaurus, an Island TBD, Meteora

Hello! SOS! Please help me with my last-minute itinerary! Me, husbands, kids ages 6 and 10 - new yorkers, good walkers, dislike crowds and resorts.

We will traveling to Greece very soon - July 3-July 24. We will rent a car at the airport and drive directly to Epidaurus area to see some shows at the Festival. Then I would like to find camping site (or glamping, rather, where they provide the supplies), visit an island, drive up to Meteora and then back to Athens (in the order you'd suggest!) Take some boats rides, explore caves, etc.

I found a nice camping/glamping place near Marathopoli. Is there an island off the coast there that we could visit that would be good for kids? To avoid driving down to the southern coast? We want to avoid the popular places as much as possible in July.

What I looked at was Epidaurus to Marathopoli to Gythia to Kythira and then driving up through Nafpaktos to Meteora. But this seems like waaaayyy too much driving, especially as my daughter gets car sick on windy roads.

THANK YOU!

Your Epidaurus → Messinia Region → Gythio → Kythira plan is doable in more or less 12 days but your daughter is not going to enjoy the driving part... There is no way to avoid the winding roads in the Peloponnese. And as you can see on a map there is no inhabited island near Marathoni.

Also note that to go to Kythira from Gythio there is a ferry only on Wednesdays and Sundays. To take a daily ferry you will have to go to Neapoli, 1h30 south east of Gythio.

As for going to the Meteora after that it will indeed involve a lot of driving, I would even say way too much driving, especially since after the Meteora you will have to go back to Athens.

To summarize your project is 50% doable, the other 50% have in my opinion some incompatible requirements
