2 Weeks in Greece with Family in mid June

Hello forum. I’m planning a two week trip to Greece with my family of 4, including a 14 and 10 year old. It’s the first time there for all of us. We’d like to spend a little time in Athens, and possibly 2-3 other locations. We’d like to strike a nice balance between active and relaxed, and stay in locations that will be interesting to the kids. Any advice would be appreciated.

Nafplio is a good location for kids I think. We went there with our young adult children and the castle there was several of our groups favorite activity. There also are good day trips to you can take from there. My kids loved Nemea which was once one of four sites of the Greek games (precursor to Olympics) . My kids loved being able to race on the track like the Greek athletes once did.

If you are interested in an island as well, Naxos, I think, is very child friendly. I am sure there are many others which are as well. I have only been to three Greek islands so others may have more ideas.

Are you open to driving? A circuit of the Peloponnese would offer endless variety--gorgeous nature/hiking/coast and some of the country's best sites like Messene and Mystras. Nafplio would be a great start. Then head in a circle--the Bradt Guide is excellent.
You could also do a shorter portion and still fly to an island and back.
