First time visiting Greece. My husband and I will be driving all over the Island of Crete for two weeks and will be in Rethymno for two nights, May 7th and 8th. We need a recommendation for our stay that has a good location, clean, comfortable and affordable. We want to safely park our rental car and explore on foot. Sadly, our previous reservation was cancelled by the property owner due to special circumstances. We would appreciate any help. Thank you

In September, we stayed at Fonte d’Oro Luxury Rooms in Rethymno. It was a bargain at $84/night. Parking was a bit of a challenge (part of the adventure!) but we ended up in a free, public lot of which there are multiple. Location is great on a charming, quiet, pedestrianized street. Our room was huge, beautifully appointed. and very comfortable. The lovely staff person provided a delicious welcome treat and an amazing breakfast. Can highly recommend.

I looked into Fonte d’Oro Luxury Rooms and yes it looks very nice but the prices are almost double during the time I will be there. We also checked out Hamam Oriental Suites so thanks for that Goanjock.
We went ahead and booked Palazzo Fortezza via Booking.com which has a good rating and is very affordable. Close to the area we were originally going to stay.
