2 days in Athens

We will be spending 2 full days in Athens. I know we want to go the Acropolis (8:00AM) and the first olympic stadium. We don't want to be pedal to the metal, we like to absorb the culture too. What would you recommend? Would you recommend the Flex City Pass?
Thank you

Never heard of a "Flex City Pass" for Athens. Forget about passes. These passes often aren't worth the cost and include attractions you may not even want to visit. Nothing is easier and cheaper than creating your own itinerary based on the places that personally interest YOU.

So, create your personalized itinerary that focuses on the places that truly interest you. You've already got the Acropolis and the Panathenaic Stadium on your list. I've made a map that lists some other places, including some less frequented ones. There's more to Athens than just ancient ruins.

But first, check out the official Athens website for more information and suggestions on what to see and do:

Two days isn’t a whole lot of time given how much there is to see and do in Athens. Using the map to locate sights that interest you, and are fairly close to each other, will help maximise your time. Just wandering the Plaka area and be fun, or walking up and around the acropolis can be nice. We also took the funicular up Lycabetus hill for a great view of the city, and had lunch at the restaurant there. The Benaki museum is a very good, smaller and uncrowded museum that is well worth a visit. It had a lot of pottery, but also an unexpected art exhibit I really enjoyed. I’ve not heard of the pass you are asking about, but I find these types of passes are often not worth it when you have limited time. They force you to rush through the sights to make the most use of the pass. Just choose the sights that interest you. Going up the Acropolis can be time consuming, and exhausting if it’s hot, so you may not want to visit another major sight after that.
