14 days in April: Athens-Santorini-Istanbul

My girlfriend and I are spending some time in Europe and have about a 14 day period for Greece and Istanbul.
Our plan was to fly into Athens, spend 3 days > take the 8-hour ferry to Santorini and spend 4-5 days there > then fly to Istanbul with a connection in Athens.

Does this plan sound at least somewhat reasonable? I know Santorini is a little far out there and Hydra is closer, but we've heard good things and were hoping to have a nice place to vacation from the vacation.

Thanks so much for your input! :)

Assuming you're flying home out of Istanbul, going to Santorini after Athens then flying to Istanbul seems like a workable plan, as long as you don't want to see any other Greek island or any other part of Turkey. But if you have to return to Athens for your homeward flight it makes better sense to fly to Santorini directly from the Athens airport when you first arrive, then fly to Istanbul, and then fly back to Athens for your last days before returning home.

Okay great, thanks so much for your input! We are flying out from Istanbul at the end of the trip, so I'll just keep on with the plan.
Thanks again!
