10 days in Greece in 2025

Hi, I've read through many threads on Greece and while I know 10 days (in June 2025) is widely thought to not be enough time, it's all we are going to be able to do. It will be me, my husband and 2 daughters (20 and 18). This is our first time to Greece.

From reviewing Rick's itineraries and others' suggestions, I was thinking of doing:

Athens
Delphi
Nafplio
Aegina

I don't have it determined yet for how many days in each location. I tried to choose locations that were close enough to each other that it was doable for a 10-day stay. Thoughts?

It depends. It helps if you can get to one of your farther destinations on arrival. Meaning leave Athens for last because likely want to be there before flight (though Nafplio is not too far for a later afternoon/early evening outbound flight). Do you have flight times yet? If you arrive early and can get to Aegina first, you could do two nights there, three in Nafplio, one in Delphi, three in Athens. That's nine nights so if you actually have ten you can add it where ever you most want the extra time. I am assuming you'll have a car for Nafplio and Delphi.
Unless you have some pressing need to include it, I'd skip Aegina and just enjoy the coast elsewhere to give yourselves a bit more wiggle room.

Thank you. I think that I picked Aegena because someone said it was a better coast choice than Hydros.

If you have enough time to go to an island and you don't know which one to choose between Hydra and Aegina, why don't you listen to yourself instead of listening to what "someone said"?

Just look at what they offer and decide according to your preferences

But if you are looking for beautiful sandy beaches, forget Hydra, there are none
Aegina is also closer to Piraeus (40 minutes by ferry) than Hydra (2 hours by ferry)

Each change of location will eat up several hours of your day. Since you only have 10 days, you may consider cutting out the islands and concentrating on Athens and the mainland.

You could start your trip in Nafplio. It is a seaside city that feels like an island. Its a great destination with a Venetian era old town as well as a huge fortress on the side of the mountain.
It is also just 2 hours from Athens airport.

There are several good ancient sites near and around Nafplio.

You can get to Delphi from Nafplio. Its probably about 2.5 hours as I recall. You could do Delphi as a day trip or spend the night there and head to Athens at the end of your trip. Athens can be done fairly well with 3 nights. You need to be in Athens the night before your return flight just in case something goes wrong with your logistics.

You might want to consider a stop at Corinth on your way to Nafplio. Look for the huge fortress at Acrocorinth. You get a 360 degree over the countryside.

I think this is a more efficient plan.
