1 night stop in between Monemvasia and Athens Airport

I can’t say I’d relish a drive that long on my last day, but Mystras is exceptional and I think even kids that age would find it so. If everything is not already set in stone, I’d share your arrival and departure details and number of days and let the peeps here crowdsource the perfect itinerary for you.

You don't give details about your exact schedule or the number of days you're spending in each location, but it would make more sense to plan your itinerary as: Nafplio - Mystras - Aeropoli - Monemvasia - Athens, since Mystras is on the way to Aeropoli, coming from Nafplio.

If you can't change anything, without going to Mystras, from Monemvasia you can take the coastal road via Leonidio, there are some nice spots by the sea and the road is scenic.

When will you be traveling? I think that spending the night by Mystras would be wonderful and that your children would enjoy it. Last year we stayed at the Mystras Grand Palace Resort and it was lovely. The architecture of the hotel is absolutely beautiful- very traditional (not a glitzy place at all). Wonderful hospitality, a large pool, tennis court, basketball court, wonderful restaurant,, and the best buffet breakfast we have ever had in Greece (or right up there, anyway, as we have had many). Anyway, we thought it was perfect, and that you would have a reasonable drive to the airport .
