Yes is the Sight and Sound in Ronks PA. Let me know if you want restaurant info or other things to do in the area as we live close by but have never been to this particular theatre.

Sight & Sounds is amazing! It's what draws most people to the region (they typically have three show a day). Think passion play with all the technical wizardry of a Las Vegas show rolled up into one. I'm not a very religions person but had a great time. Of course there are lot of other things to do in area like the Amish sights and the historic railroads. In Lancaster itself there is the Fulton Theater, which is the oldest theater in America and they do excellent Broadway style productions for adults and children.

Thanks so much for all the terrific suggestions! Can anyone suggest reasonably priced lodging nearby. We travel in a Sprinter Van but use an occasional hotel for a shower and some variety.

Colleen, I've heard good things about the Bird In Hand Family Inn, although I've never stayed there. I usually stay at the Kitchen Kettle or the Inn and Spa in Intercourse, but they are a bit more expensive.

Oh, and I've also been to the Sight and Sound and enjoyed it. I think the Hershey restaurant (buffet) is on the same property so maybe dinner before the show?

The Hershey restaurant burned down about a year ago. They hoped to reopen this May. Not sure how close it is to that schedule. Route 741 does not intersect with route 30 in that area, it parallels 30. Route 896 is the road you want if coming off Route 30. The traffic is not.that bad until you get to the driveway to the theater but it does move fairly quickly. There are many of the chain motels on Route 30. Search the internet perhaps using Ronks for the location. There is a Fulton Steamboat hotel just down the road but have no idea of the price.

Oh Gail, I had no idea! That's too bad. I ate there once and thought it was good, but I like the cozy family diner feel of Dienner's better. It's amazing how much food I can eat when I'm there!
