Off the beaten path for restaurants

For both Santorini and Mykonos do you have places that are not directly targeted towards tourists. We would like to go where the locals would go.

We were recently in Santorini and I would like to recommend 2 restaurants: Taverna Simos in Firostephani on the main road, also Salt and Pepper on the main road in Fira heading in the Firostephani direction. Both have excellent food at resonable prices. Be prepared for huge portions in many restaurants in Greece, so although many items sound good, order easy or you will be wasting and paying for more food than you can possibly eat! We also found that a lot of restaurants will give you complementart desserts, Ouzo ro other after dinner drink and often complimentary desserts! We ate well for a very reasonable price with 1/2 L. of house wine, salad (to share) and 2 entrees for around 30E! Also the so-called appetizers are often huge and are plenty for your main course. Even the appetizers sometimes arrive with sides of vegetables. The food wa fabulous!
