Monemvasia Restaurant suggestions

We are taking the April 11 RS 14 day tour of Athens and Greece. My husband has a significant birthday during a "free evening" while staying in mainland Monemvasia. I am looking for suggestions of special dinner places for the two of us so that I am able to make a reservation. The RS Greece guidebook number one suggestion is Matoula on "The Rock". Our accommodations are at the Hotel Panorama in Gefyra. According to Google maps it is 1.5 miles between the hotel and restaurant.

Our 2017 RS tour group ate at Skorpios. Typical Greek cuisine with great ambience. Friendly staff. They had tables either undercover or weather permitting directly on the beach sand. We also stayed at the Panorama.

Matoula looks like a lovely restaurant for a special dinner. It would be about a 30 min walk from your hotel. We enjoyed Monemvasia!

I cannot recall the name of the place, but by location Scorpios, looks like the place. We had tables on the paved walkway just at the edge of the beach. We did not make a reservation. It was a 'free night' dinner

Fantastic view of 'the Rock' as sunset paints it an amazing array of colors. We were there in July so not sure about weather in April.
It was one of those 'wow' experiences, and the fishing boats coming into harbor in the evening made it even more special.

The guide should be able to direct you to a beachfront restaurant. Probably why we went there. Some other tour members eventually ended up there as well. No one had any complaints.

Like Janis had an excellent dinner and experience.

I appreciate both Janis and Joe’s responses to my question about where to eat on our free night in Monemvasia. I am excited about this tour and my spouse’s significant birthday. Joe’s comment about Monemvasia and sunset views of the rock being a WOW moment spoke to my heart and add to the budding excitement . Nice to hear Janis’s 2017 Greece tour stayed at the Panorama. Thank you both for responding. Sally

Sally,
You are very welcome. One of our favorite tours. Enjoy it all & especially your husband’s “significant birthday!”
