In May we are planning to drive the Mani.
We'll leave Monemvasia in the morning and drive to southern tip of Mani.
Then the next day head north on the west side.
I have heard it is a slow go, and not to do it in one day.
Thus, is there a recommended spot to stay near the southern tip?
Or should we try to make it to the Diros area?
Does the "southern tip of Mani" mean 'Geopark of Agios Nikolaos' ?
From Monemvasia to Diros, via G-A-N, is 4-5 hrs of driving ( ~125 miles)
That gives you at least 6 hrs to spending doing whatever it is you want to do. Is that enough time?
For our trip in 2018, we left Monemvasia after breakfast and worked our way west, next staying at the Hotel Mani in Areopoli for 2 nights, before driving our way up the west coast. A drive to the far south of the peninsula was easy from Areopoli.
