I've traveling solo to Naxos and Paros mid to late September and looking for hotel recommendations. I'd like to spend 4-5 nights on each island. I'd prefer a locally run hotel over a chain. I won't have a car and safety is a priority. Budget is $200 or less per night, preferably less.
On Naxos, take a look at Hotel Grotta. Our stay there was great, and "Mama's" fabulous breakfast is included in the rate. https://www.hotelgrotta.gr/
I’ve stayed twice in Parikia in an AirBnB owned by a lovely family. Walkable from the ferry and well within your budget. Please let me know if you’d like the listing.
I have not been to Naxos and therefore cannot comment. However, in Paros, I stayed at a small hotel in Parikia, which is super authentic. Do not stay in Naoussa, unless you like mingling with only foreign tourists.
Thank you for the recommendations and the tip on Parikia! I was going to stay in Naousa but I will avoid it now. I'd appreciate any direct links you might have.
Hello,
I stayed in Naxos maybe three years ago and stayed at
Kalergis studios.
Simple but clean and cozy boutique hotel. I also went solo and it was perfect. Im actually going again in June.
Enjoy!
Hi Mac&Ralph,
We loved both Naxos and Paros, although we didn't stay in Paros, we stayed in Antiparos which is only a 9 minute ferry ride away.
We flew into Athens and took a flight to Paros, then a 9 minute ferry ride to Antiparos and stayed at Thalasea and loved it. We took a ferry to Naxos and stayed at Hotel Palatia on the beach and highly recommend it as well.
Both properties are locally owned and operated. Both were recommended by frequent RS forum travellers
Enjoy your time away.

Another vote for Hotel Grotto on Naxos. It’s an easy short walk into town, great views and family run….they take an interest in you!
