I just suggested this on another thread and thought I should add it here. We stayed for 5 nights at the Athens Cypria Hotel in October 2022, for an OAT tour that started in Athens and ended in Zagreb Croatia. At the time, it was about $133/night average, two people. Location is fantastic, a few blocks down Ermou (major shopping street) from Syntagma Square (metro). Less than half a mile to the Agora, 3/4 mile to Acropolis (we walked to pretty much everything we wanted to do). Lots of restaurants, shops, etc nearby.
We thought the room was pretty spacious, by European standards. Building layout was a bit confusing at first - this is definitely one where you want someone to show you to your room initially! - there is a front and rear building, and different elevators. Some hotel noise (expected) and city noise (also expected - there was a wine bar across the back alley below our room) but nothing egregious. Our rate included a massive breakfast buffet. Hotel has a rooftop bar that is not to be missed - small, cozy and stunning views of the Acropolis, especially lit up at night. We were there almost every night either before or after evening excursions.
