Winter in Munich area

My wife and I arrive in Munich on Nov 27 at 8am and we will be taking a train out either the night of the 30th or morning of Dec 1. With how it stands now we will have 3 days to spend. I am having deciding on what to see and do because I'm not sure what is open or closed. We would love some suggestions from everyone to help us decide. I have his Munich book, but I reallt like hearing from the people.

Thanks

Other than beer gardens, just about everything should be open. And if the temperatures are unseasonably warm, even these may open.

Hi,

I think you're in for a terrific visit. While we've never been to Munich's Christmas markets, we've been to the one's in Salzburg, Innsbruck, Berchtesgaden, etc. Incredible holiday atmosphere, especially in the evening with the lights.

During our late Nov./early Dec. trips in 2010 and 2013 to the Christmas markets, we didn't come across any sights that were closed at this time of year. A couple had shorter hours, but not closed. Enjoy! We certainly did on our trips at this time of year!

That's not even really winter. You might be lucky with decent temperatures. Visit Christmas Markets.
