My fiancé and I are planning a trip to Germany in September 2024. As I'm looking at different regions and activities I found several wine festivals around Bernkastel-Kues. I was already considering a day trip to this area, so am curious if anyone has been to a wine festival in the region. If so, which one(s) did you attend and recommend? Would you consider this a full-day event or maybe a half day? Any other tips are appreciated (about this topic or the region)!

We went to one in Bernkastle or more likely Traben-Trarbach, but it was about 1984. It was lots of fun, but I can't remember much about it. That's the nature of wine festivals. Make sure to have a place to stay within walking distance if you plan a full involvement with the wine festival.
We did learn one thing in Frankfurt. We went to a wine festival, and the first glass of wine was about 5E more expensive than listed. I figured out later that this was the deposit on the glass. So make sure to hold on to your glass, and determine if there is a deposit. It was a pretty nice glass glass, which I could have kept.
