Where to stay in GP

Hi,

I tried using the search function here to find the answer to my question, but it didn't have much, so I am hoping someone here can advise me. I am trying to figure out where to stay in Garmisch Partenkirchen for 2 nights in early August before heading to Munich. Can anyone can recommend a few hotels in the 100 euros/night range?

Thanks very much.

We have stayed at a number of places in G-P, but only one I would recommend. It is on the Partenkirchen side, a reasonable walk from the train station. They do provide a pass for the little bus that goes around town. We stayed there two years ago and the rooms seem all new, very bright and open. Our room was large and had a nice balcony.

And we have not stayed here, as it is always full when I inquire, meaning it is very popular:

Twenty years ago we stayed here, and liked it very much, but I cannot find any recent reviews, and their website has not been updated, so they may not be operating any longer.

Well that is high season. Maybe try Trivago or the tourist office for a FEWO (holiday apartment like this: http://www.ferienwohnungen-hausler.de/Englisch/preise.htm). Many of these apartments have minimum stays. I recently stayed at the Staudacherhof, a great hotel and in a great location, but double the price your looking for. Maybe something along highway 23 (Zugspitstrasse) or 2 (Mittenwalder Str). Traffic, but cheaper because of it. Good public transportation in this area, so maybe stay farther out. I would book now if possible.

If price isn't really the most important consideration, you can use booking.com to filter for places under $110 a night. I found six possibles, using August 2-4, but your actualmdates may be different.

Hi Bxrlover- We have stayed at the Gästehaus Brigitte 3-4 times in the last decade. Fair price, clean rooms, free parking, private bathroom, breakfast buffet, no lift, easy 5-10 minute walk to main pedestrian area in Garmisch, 10 minute walk to HBF, they fill up fast so check ASAP.

Have a great trip!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. The gasthof-fraundorfer looks perfect!
