I’m relocating from my Boppard hotel to a Cochem hotel in late morning on May 7. All of the train itineraries have me switching to “BUS SEV” at Koblenz Hbf for a portion of the trip. Since the stated transfer time is 12 minutes I would like to be prepared for wherever and whatever I have to do to catch the bus. I would appreciate any advice or information on how/where to catch my bus.
SEV is a train replacement bus because the line is closed for whatever reason - could be weather but more likely repair work to the line. I haven't looked for it at Koblenz but the procedure is the same everywhere. You get off your train, follow the crowd out to the front of the station and the SEV stop will be clearly marked, probably with a bus with SEV on the destination board or on a sign in the window.
I'm not sure I'd want to want to SEV with lots of luggage.
SEV = Schienenersatzverkehr
The photo above shows Koblenz Hbf's main entrance. Walk straight out the entrance a few hundred feet and you'll see the bus parking bays on your right side. The SEV bus is likely to be there - but pay attention at the station for "SEV" signage, as some alternative pick-up spot might have been arranged.
Thanks to both of you for the great advice - as always!
At https://www.bahnhof.de/koblenz-hbf / Schienenersatzverkehr you can download a map that shows the exact position of the SEV.
Got it! Good map - I understand the track layouts and I located the Busbahnhof - thank you!
were you able to understand that the SEV will be at bus stop "H"?
(laughing here) ….. not until I downloaded and translated the PDF that was labeled with a very long word beginning with SCH…….. that I still have no idea of how to pronounce. If only I had read your reply before. Thanks for sharing.
