British Airways says that carry on bags must weigh under 50lbs. SAS says 17lbs. Both have the same required dimensions for length, width, and depth. Anyone have any additional information about this or know if I am just reading this incorrectly?
I know that is still the weight for BA. SAS was 17lbs in 2015 and so is likely the same, but I haven't looked it up. In 2015 I carried on my 20 lb luggage for BA, but checked it on my SAS flight on that trip. SAS was self check in Stockholm so was pretty easy then...
BA has a length of 56 cm and SAS has 55 cm like most other Euro airlines.

I think they are betting no one is going to stuff 51 pounds into their carryon. But the SAS 17 lb seems low—- isn,t that’s only 8 kilos?
Maybe you need to visit the discussion on lightweight fabrics.
You're reading it right. SAS is closer to what most European airlines allow as carry on limit.
Yes, SAS' limit on carryon luggage is 8 kg. What kind of additional information are you looking for?
