Warnemunde, Germany

Is there anything interesting to do here in May?

Of course, I can't read your mind, but it would be helpful if you wrote (assuming this is correct), "Two of us, ages 55-65, will have a cruise port day 8AM-5PM in Warnemunde, May 2025. We don't want to pay for a cruise company excursion."

I'd remind you that even as ridiculously far as Berlin is, they offer that trip with an absolute guarantee that the ship will not leave, even if the "company tour" is not back on time. No such guarantee for private arrangements.

Not much. We hired a guide who took us on a short train ride to Rostock and took a tour. Small city but bigger. They had a small Stasi prison which we visited as part of the tour. Check toursbylocals.com. They have a link to cruises, your specific one, and list what is available for each port.
We’ve used them all over Europe, never a problem.
