Heading over in January and trying to make head-or-tail about their policies and procedures for being able to go out and about. The app I have from Walgreens pharmacy where I got my shots has an actual QR on it. Have any of you actually used it in Germany to get the records on your CovPass? Or, even better (but not bloody likely) simply used it when asked to show proof? Thanks!
Have not tried, but the QR code will not work as proof of vaccination in place of CovPass, or even useful in getting a German QR code, unless scanning the code takes you to a publicly accessible website where your record is available for viewing (unlikely given HIPA requirements).
Take your CDC card and ask Walgreens for a printout of your vaccination record, either from them, or if your State/County retains that information. The printed record usually provides a bit more information and shows that a "qualified" person administered the shots, so might make it easier to convert your US documents to a German QR code. There are mixed results whether Pharmacies are providing non-residents with QR codes, when I was in Cologne last month, information on city websites seemed to suggest specific pharmacies listed, not any pharmacy, would review your information and provide a code to get a QR code on CovPass.
