Our family consists of grandparents, parents a 10 and 12 year old boy..
Flying into Frankfort the end of June which will be our base for soccer training for 1 week and the tournament is in Hauenstein, Germany, the following week.
Any suggestions for what to do in the area? Thinking of taking the train to Berlin for a weekend.

Nothing wrong with that. Maybe you want to stay a little closer to your base and take a Rhine Cruise through the gorge and visit a castle like Marksburg.
