Visiting Munich Need Help with transportation Info

Hello
My husband and I will be visiting Munich from October 24-Nov 1 of this year and I would like suggestions on what type of tickets to purchase for using the public transportation in Munich. We plan to see the sights in Munich and then take a day trip to Salzburg (through a tour company) and another day trip to Nuremburg.

We are staying about 15 minutes from the city center by car or public transport. Do you think I will be using the S-bahn or U-bahn more to get around Munich? Should I purchase day tickets? or the city card which I see offers discounts into the many attractions?

The Munich City Pass is ideal for visitors who make their plans in a price-conscious way and who want to see as much as possible of the city and its cultural attractions!

If you book a card to cover the whole of the Munich public transport area, S-Bahn suburban railway travel to and from Munich Airport is included in the price. You can choose to have a ticket which is valid for one, two, three, four or five days to suit your own personal needs.

For Nuremberg you can use a Bayern Ticket, if you stick to regional trains and leave after 9 am weekdays or anytime weekends. Cost for 2 is 32 EUR. Fastest regional train is the 9:02 to Ingolstadt, then connect to Nuremberg from there arriving at 10:49. Your Bayern Ticket also includes public transport in Nuremberg for the day and return regional trains to Munich.

In and around the city center the U Bahn is what you'll use most. If you go out to Schloss Nymphenberg or Dachau you'll probably want the S Bahn. S Bahn to the airport too. They all leave from the main station if you get lost, so it's easy to fix if you have the time.

You probably won't need anything more than the U Bahn in Nuremberg, as you can walk directly across the square from the main Bahnhoff into the old town.

The tour company will probably cover you for Salzburg, so the Bayern ticket is going to be a good deal for everything else. (If you were going by train I'd recommend a taxi as the fastest way from the station to Mozartplatz.)

Best way of moving through Munich is public transportation, one of the best in the world. The same ticket is valid for all kinds of transportation, S bahns, U bahns, trams, buses. Maybe the best option is 3 day ticket innenraum (It allows the whole city including sume neighboring districts) 3 day ticket costs around 16,8 Euro. If there is more than one person (up to five) you can save some money buying gruppen ticket. Innenraum does not cover airport it is too far so you can buy supplement single ticket to cover that together with your innnenraum ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the blue vending machines, found at U- and S-Bahn-stations, at many tram and bus stops and newspaper kiosks. There is also a weekly ticket but i think it starsts on monday. Much more on the link below
