Using the Company BIKETOURS.com for Biking the Danube from Passau to Vienna in May

Has anyone used BikeTours.com to arrange for this trip, including lodging, bikes, meals and luggage transport?

Haven't heard of them. Have used Radweg-Reisen for a bike tour around Lake Constance, and will be using Velociped for a tour of the Mosel this summer. Both of those companies run their own tours, but also work with other tour companies. We had a very good experience with Radweg-Reisen and so far Velociped has been very good to work with and I have read good reviews. You used to be able to see which "partner tour company" Radweg-Reisen uses on their website, but I just checked and don't think this is possible any more. I suspect if you were to email them they would be happy to tell you who the tour operator is and if BIKETOURS.com is reputable.

I don’t know of this company either, but there are lots of companies both headquartered in the US and in Europe that offer that tour as a fully-supported adventure. Google “Danube bicycle tour” to get an idea. My wife and I cycled self-supported from St. Polten/ Krems to Linz last September; very easy cycling and interesting. Not sure about May weather, but our rain gear was worth it’s weight in gold. During my investigations I ran across a Czech tour company that seemed reasonably priced and worth checking into. Let me know if you would like me to dig for details.

This is the web store for Bike Tours Direct, LLC. I see there is one poor review on trip advisor (which was repeated in Yelp):
https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g188590-i60-k5859320-Bike_Tours_Direct-Amsterdam_North_Holland_Province.html

But also some good reviews here:

Looks like they mostly just resell tours from other companies (my guess is they get the discounts by selling the last few spots on existing tours):

You might do better finding a local German or Austrian bike tour company and booking directly wit them.

Just above it was said that there were good reviews on the Rick Steves website, in 2012.

But also some good reviews here:

Take the time to read through the "reviews" there which were staged by the biking company's president. Read the comments by our webmaster in that thread. Of the four instant positive reviews 3 were by first time posters who responded to a call from the president of the company within 45 minutes, and the 3 people posted once in 2012 and have never been heard of again. One of the posters made her first post that day and has had 5 threads since.

I just ask that you read and think before accepting those as positive reviews.

I did this exact trip with two girlfriends in April of 2016 and booked through Biketours.com. We had a FABULOUS experience and just booked our second tour through them for Sept 2018 in the Czech republic. We had several special requests (an extra night in Linz, upgraded one hotel during the trip for a spa experience, an extra night in Passau at the beginning, and booked our own accommodation in Vienna at the end) and biketours.com made all of them happen. We called them several times with questions and they happily answered questions we had about logistics, training, etc. I can highly recommend them! I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the trip if you'd like to message me :)

One more thing - we did a self-guided tour, so it was just the three of us. They are a broker that works with lots of local companies, but we loved the convenience of telling them what we wanted and they made all the arrangements. Our tour was confirmed within three days with all our special requests met.

We went last summer on our own but met people who used them and were very happy. The same was true for Radweg-Reisen.
