Hi, Does anyone know if we can use the Munich City Tour ticket to get to and from the airport from the city center or do we have to purchase a separate ticket? Thanks.

There are 5 versions of the Munich City Tour ticket. The one-day version includes travel on all the conveyance of the MVV in the inner zone only (Note: the inner zone includes just about everything people see in Munich except Dachau, but does NOT include the airport). There are separate 3 and 4 day versions for the inner zone only or for the entire network, which would include the airport.
The City Tour ticket includes travel up to 6 AM on the "next" day (ie, the 4th day with a 3 day ticket), so an entire network ticket would allow you to travel to the airport on the next day as long as you arrived by 6.

How many days do you plan on using the City Tour ticket?
Does that include the day you arrive and travel from the airport?
Do you plan on visiting any attractions that day?
Do you plan to go to Dachau?
I looked briefly at the list of attractions and discounts with the City Tour ticket, and, for the most part, I don't find enough to warrant the extra cost versus regular day tickets (single or group), particularly since you will only need the entire network on the day you arrive (or leave, if you can get to the airport by 6).

Agreed. I don't think the City Tour Ticket is a worthwhile deal.
My preference is to get an Airport-City Day Pass for the days of arrival and departure (covers the entire network for the full day, not just the one trip into town or to the airport), then day tickets, multi-day tickets or Isar Card (weekly) only for the zones needed during the stay in Munich.

Thanks, Lee and Jeff. We will get the airport city ticket on days of arrival and departure and a multi day pass that covers the entire zone for the two days in between.

The Airport-City Day pass is identical to the Gesamtnetz Tageskarte (day pass for the entire network).
There are one-day day tickets for just the inner zone (Innenraum) and also for the inner two zones (München XXL), which covers transport by S-Bahn and bus to Dachau. If on one day you only want to stay around the Fußganger Zone (pedestrian zone - shopping street, Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus, etc), you won't need any ticket for that day.
