Just returned from Berlin where I used the C&P card from USAA. I could not get it to work in the ticket machine at the U-bahn station but it worked at all merchants that I tried. Very simple - put the card in the slot. English menu comes up telling you to key in the PIN then to hit "the green button". It then tells when to remove your card. After four or five seconds the cashier hands you the receipt and you're finished. Very simple and quick.
