Unsölds Factory Hotel: anyone stayed here?

'allo,

Having inadvertently done something smart by taking the train and not flying, I'm going for two: has anyone stayed at the Unsölds Factory Hotel in Munich? Search function doesn't work on this place due to the little .. above the "o" (I'm sure there's a name for that) which leads to a bazillion posts here about "unsold" things.

So, oh great masses, can anyone chime in on this (hopefully) fine establishment?

Bonus question: is it within crawling distance of Theresienwiese? I'm asking for a friend ... named Beer.

Looks like an interesting hotel in a good area for visiting Munich locations. I wasn’t aware of it before. On Google maps it’s a combined 22 minute walk to U4/5 and ride to the Octoberfest grounds or a 44 minute walk. If it’s available at a price you can afford I’d book it. Transportation is great in Munich and it is walkable to so many other Munich sites.

EDIT: if this hotel that looks fine and gets great reviews is still available during Octoberfest I wouldn’t piddle around on the forum this AM, I’d book it. Public transportation is great and the hotel is within a quick walk of either end of the U4 with a quick ride to the fairgrounds or 44 minutes by foot.

I don't know the Hotel but walking distance not for me :-) It is a 45 minutes walk.
But what makes it perfect is a direct subway connection (U4/5).

Universal convention for the umlaut is to add an "e" after the umlauted vowel. Even German websites where the company name has an umlauted vowel use this convention in their web address.

The Unsoelds Factory Hotel is just a short walk ( 5 minutes)from the Lehel U-Bahn station with a direct connection to the Oktoberfest grounds (Theresienwiese).

And now I'll tell you a secret. My favorite church in Munich is not far from the hotel :-) Far too beautiful to keep it to myself.

Klosterkirche St. Anna - google: 48.140303733134886, 11.586191520569063 (not the big church at the St. Anna square) is a gem: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klosterkirche_St._Anna_im_Lehel#/media/Datei:Klosterkirche_St._Anna_im_Lehel_-_Blick_zum_Hochaltar_und_Deckenfresko.jpg

The Lehel district of Munich, where the hotel is located, is at the top of my list anyway together with the district Haidhausen. The already mentioned St. Anna square with the large church and the small monastery gives you the feeling of living in a village. When the farmers market then takes place there on Thursday it's finally clear to me that it can't be in the middle of a city as big as Munich :-)

Haidhausen is one of my favorite areas of Munich in which to wander . It boasts a surfeit of beautiful Jugendstil ( Art Nouveau ) architecture , as do areas of Schwabing . Lehel is home to one of the city's lesser known art museums , well worth a visit - The Schack Collection - https://www.pinakothek.de/en/visit/sammlung-schack
