I too saw this several days ago. What a bargain and available to foreigners, not just Germans too.

Thanks for this piece of fantastic news. It certainly helps. I assume rides on the S-Bahn are covered.

In Germany most of my rides are done taking the ICE or IC, sometimes the EC is more advantageous than the ICE pertaining to connections. Too good to be true, if 9 Euro ticket were also valid on these trains but DB has to make money too, which has not been the case oftentimes. Still, I take often enough RB and RE trains to warrant buying this 9 Euro ticket.

I just wanted to point out that the 9 euro ticket is per month. So 9 euros for June, 9 euros for July, and 9 euros for August. Still a great bargain!

I just picked up two tickets from the local tram company (KVB Köln / Cologne). The tickets work for BOTH the tram / Ubahn and the regional Bahn RB and RE trains. The ticket is valid per month and you can buy the tickets for the months of July and August now too.
