Has anyone done one of these tours that explore the tunnels in Berlin? It is called Berliner Unterwelton.
I haven't, but I'm going to Berlin next month, and this looks interesting. Thanks for asking about it.
I took the underground tour of the Flak Tower last month. It was on my list of things I specifically went to Berlin for, and it was quite interesting. When I go back I'll seriously consider one of the others. I do recommend you take a jacket, as it's much cooler underground, and you may want gloves. Also good shoes; I wore boots and was glad I did. Don't wear a hat, because you'll end up carrying it as a protective helmet must be worn.
That's good to know, thank you. We are going in December so I'm thinking it will be quite chilly! :)
BB- if you could let me know how your experience goes next month, that would be great!
I will do so, if I do one of the tours. I'm going to Berlin for workshops and will be spending some of my time with others in the group, but I've add this to my "hope to do" list.
Great, thanks!
Hello,
My family of 4 (kids 9 and 13) plus my in-laws (70's) did Tour M (Tunnels Under the Berlin Wall) last month. The guide was a fantastic storyteller and the whole family loved it. One of the favourite things we did during our week in Berlin. We had done one historical tour in Prague the week before that ended up being very dry, and we ended up sitting in one place for more of a university lecture than tour. Berlin Unterwelton's guide was the exact opposite, which was greatly appreciated.
Can't speak to their other tours, but i'm sure they're good as well...we were more interested in the Berlin Wall history which is how we chose Tour M.
Cheers,
Chris
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Chris! That is so helpful amd reassuring that it is a great tour. :)
I did Tour 1 (Dark Worlds) a few years ago. It was excellent. The company has a very good reputation.
We did the Unterwelten tour last summer, and it was superb. I highly recommend it. Also recommend the East Germany museum and the Spionage Museum.
I did the Unterwelten Tour 1 a number of years ago. Excellent. I still recall many details.
I have recommended the company before on this board. I’m glad the OP brought it up again. It seems off the radar for most Berlin travelers and should be considered for those interested in the topics:

OP, add the flak tower in the park across from the Unterwelten building if you take a tour meeting there. Quite interesting, even if a DIY stop.
We also did the 1 tour a couple of years ago and thought it was excellent.
Thank you for the input everyone. Much appreciated!
