Uber or Taxi from BER?

In Germany, there is not much difference between Taxis and Uber. And there are other private transfer companies as well, e.g. welcome pickups (no personal experience in Berlin, good ones in Athens). They charge €61 from BER ot Berlin Mitte. However - why not take one of the frequent and cheap trains?

Always an official taxi if you ask me.

There are taxi stands outside the airport, but unless you have a ton of luggage, you can just as easily take a train.

Thanks! I'll check with the hotel to get directions if I take the train. I suppose people with luggage on trains is common, so we won't be the crazy Americans with the luggage. Trying to pack "Rick Steves light."

You don't need to check with the hotel. You find all information about public transportation in Berlin at www.bvg.de so you just need to know the hotel's address. And you will not be the only persons boarding the train at the airport with luggage.
