Hello All:
I would like to fly to Hamburg Germany from Los Angeles to see a loved one dance with the Hamburg Ballet. Shortly after that I would like to visit Copenhagen then fly back to LA. I would like to do it in that order to avoid any missteps along the way that interfere with the ballet.
Thank you!
Carl
Ok, what is stopping you from booking a flight? Might just book LAX to Hamburg and Copenhagen to LAX. Interesting rail connection between Hamburg and Copenhagan involving a ferry, but it is seamless and not very expensive. Save a ton of money over booking a 3 flight trip.
There are not only no non stops to Hamburg but many of the flights seem to have two stops. Then if I want to fly back from Copenhagen the flight leaves at 6am. Ugh...Obviously I need to research this further. :(
If you would share departure city & dates there are some pretty savvy travelers here
I am seeing a 3:25 pm flight on Lufthansa, changing planes in Frankfurt and returning on Air Canada, changing panes in Toronto. Buy through their code share partner, United.
You will not find any nonstop between LAX and Copenhagen and certainly not Hamburg. SAS does fly Copenhagen to San Francisco. Looks like $800+ in the fall.
Please refer to my first message...LA to Hamburg then Copenhagen to LA. :) Thanks!
I have read it. Several times. If there are no nonstop airplanes to where you want to go, you have to do a connection. I would like to fly from Green Bay to Los Angeles, but alas, there are no direct flights.
If you must have a nonstop flight, fly in and out of Frankfurt and travel by train to the places you want to go.
Sorry Sam I was actually answering the previous bloggers question. Thank you for your idea I will look into it.
No worries. www.bahn.com will show you direct trains from Frankfurt airport to Hamburg. One every 2 hours.
I missed the LA - blind I guess.
British Airways does one stop at LHR with a couple of partners - Finnair or Air New Zealand LAX to Hamburg
Norwegian has several with only 1 stop from CPH to LAX - one dep CPH at 1:05 pm through Iceland
or one at 10:30am through Stockholm

I've also had good experiences with British Airways via London Heathrow, especially going to Hamburg. Not much time lost in that connection since the new terminal 5 has worked out its kinks and has become very efficient.
Between Hamburg and Copenhagen I'd take the ICE train. Even though it's a very fast connection it does come with a 45 minutes ride on a cruise ferry between Puttgarden and Rodby - quite an experience. Eat the buffet lunch on board. Their beef is among the best in Europe.
